Jewelry Care

The way we see it, jewelry is more than an accessory. It’s a symbol of expression and a chance to let yourself shine. Keeping them clean and cared for preserves its original look and feel, but can also be something we easily overlook. Follow these steps for jewelry care—

1—Avoid exposure to perfume, lotions, and sanitizers

These beauty products can tarnish your jewelry. They may also degrade the qualities of soft gemstones, pearls, and shells. Our jewelry is made to move with you and designed to be part of your daily wear, so if you’re like us our jewelry pieces hardly come off. In these cases practice being mindful about the amount of product and direct exposure of your jewelry pieces, and try to clean them regularly.

2—Keep it clean

Most of our jewelry pieces do well with a regular rinse in soapy water. We like to use Dawn® dish soap or similarly mild soaps with little to no perfumes. If you need a bit of a deep clean you can create a simple jewelry cleanse with baking soda and dish soap, mixing them together to create a soft paste. Gently scrub your pieces with your fingertips or a soft bristle toothbrush and follow with a lukewarm rinse. Lastly, dry them with a soft cloth and store them safely in a cool, dry place.

3—Keep them safe

Store your jewelry in a safe place, somewhere cool and dry. Keep dainty chains hung on a jewelry organizer, or neatly laid flat to avoid the headache of tangled chains. Avoid storing gemstones, pearls, and shells in places with intense light exposure, which can fade or diminish their qualities. When traveling with jewelry always keep them packed neatly and discretely if not being worn.
